Getting a 2002 vauxhall/opel astra soon. Petrol saloon car, but I need to know what the mpg is?

I have asked this question before but none of the answers helped me. If anyone has this car, can they please give me an answer. Thanks.|||1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 ?????/ The Combined figure for a 1.4, is 40mpg, according to the Parkers website. Consumption figures tend to be over-exagerrated, plus the car is almost 10 years old, so expect a figure @ 10-15% below that. In other words, @ 35mpg as a combined figure, should be expected.|||Depends on how and where it's driven. There's no "it'll do "X" mpg" answer.

Assuming it's in good condition and the engine isn't worn or sick (by no means a given on a 10 year old car) it should be in the range of high 20s in town to mid 40s on a gentle 50-60mph cruise.|||Very difficult to give a finite answer as fuel consumption is dependent upon how you drive. If you drive aggressively then you will get less mpg. If you drive carefully with no aggression you will get more mpg.|||My brother has a 2000 Holden Astra (holden is the australian vauxhall/opel) and that does about

7-8L/100km, which is very fuel efficient|||my son has a 2002 Astra, 1.4 engine

he gets about 35 mpg, but his driving is mostly city driving

obviously on long motorway trips your mpg will be greater....|||check yourself on http://www.parkers.co.uk
