What would cause my Opel ( vauxhall) vectra to lose power intermittently?

It is a 2 litre petrol model year 2000. Mechanic says nothing shows up on the computer so it must be a mechanical fault but he doesn't know what. It doesn't overheat but now and then as the car is slowing down it will lose power when I clutch. It will then just start up again. The car has done 70000 miles. any help appreciated. thanks|||fuel management, or maybe air fillter blocked|||I had an Astra that had a similar problem and it was the fuel regulator. This was picked up on the computer diagnosis and cost 拢50 to sort.

Being as your fault is intermittent, it may have been working OK when tested.
