Clicking noise when trying to start opel corsa 1.2 - where is starter motor?

the car had a flat battery and now when i try to start it (after charging battery, batttery good) it is clicking like mad but wont turn over the engine. a friend reckons the starter is stuck and i should beat it with a hammer to free it. but i cant find the starter on this car....:-( does anyone know where it is?|||If I were you I would start with a new battery, or just a different one. you can can charge it but may still be no good. if the battery does not put out enough amps the computer wont let it even try to start. usually if the solenoid is stuck it wont make rapid clicking. It might click one time. the rapid clicking, that is most likely the battery|||Look at the other end of the red battery cable (or the positive if they are not colored). Careful about hitting it, solenoid housing is most likely bakelite and can be broken easily.|||usually bottom right hand side, just look for the belt.|||Check tour batt connections. they must be clean and tight.
