Alternator weak on opel corsa 2001, can it be repaired or does it need replacing?

if it needs replacing how is that done , any link ?|||It can be rebuilt yes, but if you want to replace it, it will cost more, you can pick them up at any O'Rileys, AutoZone or Advanced|||type into search box

how to check a alternator

how to remove alternator

steps pretty much same with any one

how and what you might have to remove to get it changes

some are easy to get to and do not need a lot of know how to remove a belt and a couple bolts unhook battery if you can see it then you can pretty much tell if its going to be easy or not

before you replace it i would jump start it and have charging system check could also be a battery or a battery cable or just a loose belt loose wire|||How do you know it's weak?

Replacements are often re-furbished ones.

Easier just to replace.|||buy a new one, they arent expensvie, they are seale dunits and cannot be repaired|||It depends what is wrong with it.On modern alternators, everything is built in.The most common alternator faults are, worn out brushes, bearing or voltage regulator.Have it bench tested. If it is diagnosed with "Diode Ripple" it's more than likely the brushes causing it.All these parts are available,if you are savvy enough to take it apart and rebuild yourself.Be careful when taking it apart or re assembling it.General Motors alternator design, makes it hard to accept error.
