How to install Sony mp3 player (CDX-GT200) to Opel Astra G with factory-inbuilt Phillips cassette player?

Like any car that hasn't got radio or cd player built into the dash, the radio should easily be removed. Look for holes in the side of your existing radio,(Blaupunkt, Philips, some Sonys). Try inserting something into these holes, one side at a time and see if the radio pulls out. Once this is done, you can disconnect the aerial and power supply. Along with the power supply you will have speaker, ground or earth and some other wires that might include, memory or backup and remote. Some of these might not actually be wired up. The power supply wire is red, ground or earth wire, black. the ground could also be attached to radio casing seperatly with a small bolt. Speakers are wired up with two wires, a positive and a negative. If there 4 speakers, hence 8 wires. Once all is disconnected, try the fitting into the new stereo. If this doesn't work, you can purchase a 'Loom' which connects to the back of the new stereo and the fitting from the old one. If you don't want to go this way you can cut the old wires and connect them once you have spares coming from the new one. GOOD LUCK.
