When driving my opel corsa, it just dies and after waiting 2 min i try to start it again then it backfires?

While driving my Opel corsa it seems to just die on me then i stop and wait for a while then trying to start it again it backfires and after a few backfires is starts again. till the whole routine starts again...PLEAS HELP|||That's a tough one without seeing it. Maybe someone at an auto store or something could look at it. There must be someone you could ask. Mine always stalled when it rained. Moisture was getting into the distributor. I guess it had a crack or something.

Backfiring is too much gas, but that could have been from pumping the gas. It sounds like the fuel filter might be clogged. I put gas in an old lacquer thinner can, once, and it melted the gas filter in the gas tank a little. But I think there is a filter up front too or maybe the fuel pump not working or even a hole in the fuel line where air is getting in. Oh, so many things, but it has to be, it's not firing or not on time, not getting air or fuel. Fuel, air and fire, as they say. True of engines in general.

Vapor lock. It gets hot and air forms in the fuel lines. That's a thought too. It sounds like one of those thing other Opel owners probably have trouble with too. A design flaw maybe. What year is it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Corsa|||You need to take expert opinion from a known good mech. There could be many issues associated. Please take the car to a good mechanic for inspection, check air filters, spark plugs tappet settings, exhaust pipes also.
